The weather is beautiful and the flowers are starting to bloom so that means it’s time for Tucson Weekly’s Spring Club Crawl to return to downtown on Saturday Apri18th. It’s Tucson’s largest music festival with 25 stages of entertainment. There will be several outdoor stages and numerous venues downtown and on 4th Avenue. Venues include the Rialto Theatre, Hotel Congress, The District, Sharks, Vaudeville, O’Malley’s, The Hut, The Red Room, Enoteca, Cushing Street, Twelve Tribes, Café Passe, Delectables, Martin’s, Magpies, Café Vicente, Delectables, Chocolate Iguana, Shot In The Dark Café, Kelly’s Market, Café Theater, and Burger City. Club Crawl gates open at 7pm.
Club Crawl boasts two major headlining acts this spring and that is Alt-music guru M. Ward at the Rialto Theatre and direct from Kingston Jamaica, Rootz Underground on the Mountain Stage. Playboy Magazine just named Rootz Underground the winner of their 2009 Music Award for Best World Music Album. Returning this spring is European piano sensation Mr. Boogie Woogie. From Phoenix are Rasta rockers Another Day and RAC performing at the Hut. Split Hoof, from Austin Texas returns to rock the roof off of Vaudeville as the headliner for “The Church of Rock Revelations”, hosted by Rev. Larry. Other prominent acts confirmed are Mostly Bears, Static Session, R. Cougar, Cosmic Slop, Whole Lotta Zep, Al Foul, Al Perry and Sunday Afternoon. Club Crawl wristbands will be available in advance at both Zia locations and are $8 in advance and $10 the night of the event. Club Crawl gates open at 7pm.
